This Year's Poster Competition

The competition mirrors the MSMR’s popular WHAT A YEAR! science discovery website (www. whatayear.org), that turns research advances into educational opportunities.

You will create and submit a poster exploring a recent research advance at a New England research institution.

For scientists , presenting posters aids collaboration and supports the exchange of ideas and strategies for the many challenges posed by life science problems.

Here's What You Will Do

Find a research discovery/breakthrough that was published or publicized by scientists at a New England research institution during 2007. Then tell the story of the discovery on a poster, using a balance of text and graphics following an MSMR-provided template.

Topics shouldn't be taken from the WHAT A YEAR! website; it is better for you to research and uncover a topic of particular interest to you.

There are useful hints in the materials below on how to find a good story.

Below are downloadable documents that will help you plan, create and submit your poster. Please look at the Poster Guidelines and Template Elements. You'll also need to print out an Entry Form.

You must have Adobe Acrobat® Reader.
