Call for Posters

For the MSMR Enrichment Symposium

March 23, 2012

Subject: We are seeking colorful and informative posters on any aspect of enrichment used with any laboratory animal species. Accepted posters will be displayed at the Fourth Annual MSMR Enrichment Symposium: “All Creatures Big and Small ... Animal Enrichment in a Laboratory Environment”.

The persons who win this award should demonstrate with the use of a poster presentation how they either (a) utilize enrichment concepts, (b) enhance living environments, (c) positively impact research with welfare improvements, or (d) eliminate stress in the animals they work with. This critical information must be conveyed in a clear, concise and professional manner. The poster cannot be for commercial advertisement or soliciting sales of a product.

Dimensions: Accepted posters will be mounted and displayed on boards 2' x 3' (or 3’ x 2’), so your submitted poster should not exceed those dimensions.

Due Date and submission details: Posters should be submitted either as PDF files or on flexible material by February 15, 2012. If you submit by PDF and your poster is accepted, you will need to send us your printed poster (see "Physical delivery" instructions below) by March 15, 2012.

To submit electronically, attach the poster PDF to an e-mail with "Enrichment Poster" in the subject line and send it to msmr@att.net. In the body of the e-mail include your name, institution, telephone number and poster title as well as your collaborators' names and institutions

Physical delivery

Send the finished poster to the address below and include in the package a document that lists your name, institution, telephone number and e-mail address, and your collaborators’ names and institutions.

Notification: Applicants will be notified of acceptance by March 1, 2012. Accepted posters will be displayed at the Enrichment Symposium and a winner will be selected from among them.

The winner will receive a certificate and a $250 honorarium, generously donated by BioServ.

Attendance: If your poster is accepted, please plan to be at the Enrichment Symposium on March 23, 2012 at the Colonnade Hotel in Boston. This Symposium is offered at no charge to MSMR members; if your poster is accepted you are also invited to attend at no charge.
