Places
to go – things to see! Waltham – Cambridge – Boston
Waltham
is home to Bentley College and Brandeis University and to a number of
high-tech and biotechnology firms. Known as The Watch City because of
its former pre-eminence in the manufacture of timepieces, the city is
now better recognized for the multiplicity of its businesses and ready
access to east, west, north and south. Cambridge is an adjacent city
and Boston is about 10 miles away.
DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park
Nestled in a wooded, green, 35-acre setting, DeCordova Museum and Sculpture

museum gift shop has received top honors from national publications.
The museum is closed on Mondays. The Sculpture Park is open every day.
Minuteman National Historical Park
A site that tops the list of many Boston tourist attractions is the
Minuteman National Historical Park. The Battle Road Visitors Center

And Lexington Battle Green is the site of the first skirmish of the
War For Independence.
Walden Pond

"Walden" and the place visitors come to escape a fast-paced
world. A 300-acre wooded park surrounds the tranquil 64-acre Walden
pond.
Boston National Historical Park/Freedom Trail

attractions. Follow the red-lined path on a three-mile walk through

Revere's House and the Old North Church.

institution for higher learning since it was established in 1636.

With five floors of books and an almost unlimited supply of gifts, software,
clothing and school supplies, this is one of the attractions in Boston
students flock to. Spend the day browsing, having a bite to eat at the
café and then meeting a well-known author taking part in their
Author Series.
Fenway Park
This is one of the highlights of Boston tourism. It has created lasting
memories, and heartaches for Boston Red Sox fans, since it opened on
April 20, 1912. The Green Monster. The manual scoreboard. The famous
moments. This is a must for sports fans.
The New England Aquarium
Boston tourism got another star attraction when The New England Aquarium
opened 30 years ago. It is designed to give the visitor an underwater
experience with exhibits specially created to connect Boston with its
waterfront. Under constant renovation, the aquarium continually looks
for ways to bring about a better understanding of marine life
.
Lansdowne Street
Located next to Fenway Park, this is the Boston attraction for those
looking for nightlife. Dance clubs. Rock clubs. It’s all here.
Just be sure to duck if a flyball comes over the Green Monster.
Quincy Market
Quincy Market is the most visited tourist destination in Boston. Grouped
around a cobblestone promenade, this vibrant place hums with the activity
of shoppers, diners and sightseers day and night. Jugglers, magicians,
mimes and bands continually entertain a constant influx of passersby.
Faneuil Hall
